What to Expect from Your End of Lease Treatment

End of Lease

To be Flea free, of course! But for best results, this is a team effort. Your end of lease treatment should be the last task before handing the keys back to your agent. The carpets should be steam cleaned, the full vacate clean completed and grass areas should be cut short. This will ensure Flea numbers are already reduced prior to treatment and none of the treatment is diminished by cleaning or mowing. The premises will also need to be vacated for at least 4 hours after treatment.

We use residual products in conjunction with insect growth regulators in flea treatments which provides long residual life impacting all life stages of the Flea’s lifecycle. It is normal to see juvenile fleas emerge for some days after the treatment.

The products used for your treatment are designed to have maximum effectiveness in controlling Fleas while maintaining the highest level of safety for your family and pets.

What Can You Do?

DIY ‘flea bombs’ have limited effect as they are not residual and will not likely meet the requirements of your rental agreement. ‘Flea bombs’ will kill active adults but not the eggs and pupa. This is why Fleas emerge in rental properties that have been Flea bombed at the end of lease when the new tenants move in. The vibrations of the new tenants and their pests alert the dormant eggs and pupa that there is a new host in town!

With a Venatic End of Lease treatment, we use residual insecticides and growth regulators to ensure these emerging Fleas also succumb to the treatment. If possible, vacuum floors and mow grass areas a couple of days after treatment, this will encourage the dormant eggs and pupae to emerge and come into contact with the treatment.
